JR-West KANSAI Rail Pass - 3Day/Adult

Get unlimited rides on the Kansai-Airport Express 'HARUKA' and local trains (incl. Rapid and Special Rapid services) with non-reserved seats, and West JR Bus in the valid area.

It includes a 1 Day Pass for Kyoto City Subway, Keihan Railway, and Hankyu Railway. Please note that the available areas are limited.

Valid trains of Kansai Area Pass are below

  • Reserved seats on Kansai-airport Express HARUKA (2 times only)
  • Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and Local trains on JR-WEST Conventional lines
  • The pass is only valid on local buses of WEST JAPAN JR BUS in Kyoto city area, and cannot be used on expressway buses.
  • Separate Express Tickets are required for both Reserved and Non-reserved seats on Express Trains, excluding Kansai-airport Express HARUKA

The train listed below cannot be used

  •  Bullet Trains "SHINKANSEN" cannot be used.

Eligibility
Foreign nationals who are holders of non-Japanese passports (who have entered Japan with a "Temporary Visitor" visa to stay in Japan for no longer than 90 days) are eligible. Passports are required for confirmation purposes at the time of exchange or purchase.

Availability and Use

  • After you complete a reservation, a confirmation email will be sent to you within 3 business days. At the same time, we will ask you for the usage start date of your JR Pass.
  • We will not be able to issue a voucher unless the date of use is confirmed, so please inform us the usage start date you prefer, which has to be within 3 months from the date you purchase.
  • We will then send your JR Pass voucher by email.
  • You can activate your JR Pass Voucher at a ticket vending machine with a passport reader in JR-West stations.
  • What to Bring
    • E-ticket with QR code attached to the email. *1
    • Passport with an IC chip. *2
  • A rail pass is available and usable all year around.
  • A rail pass is purchasable up to one month in advance of the first day of use.
  • A rail pass is valid for consecutive days.
  • The validity of a rail pass starts at 12 a.m.

*2 If your passport has no IC chip in it, please go to a JR-West Ticket Office to exchange your Voucher.

Rules & Restrictions

  • The starting date of the rail pass and the duration cannot be changed after purchase.
  • A rail pass is only valid for its rail pass holder only.
  • A passport must be carried when a rail pass is used and presented when a JR staff asks to.
  • A rail pass will be void if the magnetic ticket is detached from a rail passbook.
  • A rail pass will not be reissued even if lost or stolen.
  • Children under the age of 6 do not require a pass unless you wish to reserve seats.
